Havenfall

Mystical and dangerous, this book is full of shocking truths, intriguing characters, and beautiful descriptions. You will face otherworldly creatures and enemies in disguise. Be careful who you trust.

Maddie is the niece of the legendary Innkeeper of Havenfall, a gateway to other worlds that are shrouded in mystery. When something escapes from another world and Maddie's mother is sent to prison, our heroine flees the city to the only place she feels safe - Havenfall. But when a monster attacks her uncle in Havenfall, she is forced to become Innkeeper and finds her world is spiralling into danger. She's forced to make a decision that could change her future and everyone she cares about too. This book is not like any book I've read before. I loved the way the characters are described and how they mature throughout the story, and I found the descriptions of the setting very beautiful.

Sara Holland has created in ‘Havenfall’ a new and exciting magic that immerses the reader into its addictive, exhilarating story. A thoroughly entertaining novel!

Sara Holland has created in Havenfall a new and exciting magic that immerses the reader into its addictive, exhilarating story. I absolutely loved the wonderful world of Haven and the mysterious people who inhabit it. From the frosty delegates from Fiordenkill to the fiery councillors from Byrn, every character adds to the enchanting atmosphere of the novel.

Reading the book, you are immediately introduced to Maddie. Bright and ambitious, but disillusioned with life in the outside world, Maddie is headed to Havenfall. It is the inn where her uncle lives, where she has spent every summer for her whole life, and the place where alternate worlds collide. Excited to reconnect with old friends, and mostly to just have fun in the place where she belongs, Maddie is not prepared for the oncoming storm that is about to hit Havenfall.

Holland has woven a compelling narrative. I immediately connected to Maddie, who despite her flaws is an interesting and likeable character. It was delightful to follow her as she strives to unravel the mystery of what is going on at Havenfall, and why. I found that I, like Maddie, was kept wildly guessing about a lot of the secrets people were hiding until the book’s climax.

In other words, Havenfall is an excellent read for any fantasy fans who are looking for their next read. It incorporates a sensational protagonist, a bewitching magic system and a deadly foe hidden in its depths. A thoroughly entertaining novel!

Keeps you guessing through the entire book. I could not put it down! The best fantasy book I have read for a long time.

Havenfall is amazing. It is full of fantasy and mystery and is impossible to put down. We are introduced to three ancient realms: Byrn, Fiordenkill and Solidaria; and Earth is called Haven. Each is perfectly explained and are super easy to imagine. This adds to the capturing nature of the book, you always want to find out more. Maddie is a fantastic character, who you instantly bond with. You see the events exactly as she does, making the book really exciting. Havenfall itself is so intriguing and its guests are as well, making it an absolute delight to read. I could not put it down! The mysterious characters make it a page-turner and they keep you guessing the entire time. I don't want to spoil any of it for you, so I would encourage you to read it!

Havenfall is one of the best books I've read in a long time. The adventures Maddie has are thrilling and the book is so immersive. I'd definitely recommend it to my friends.

The story is written from the point of view of a girl named Maddie who loves spending summers at her uncle's Inn. Beneath this giant Colorado mansion lies gateways to hidden words: Fiordenkill, Bryn and Solaria, which has been sealed off for the safety of Haven, its inhabitants and the Last Remaining Adjacent Realms by ancient magic. When the peace is shattered when a murder takes place, and someone Maddie loves is under suspicion, she must protect the Inn and her safe place will never be the same.

I would recommend this to people 12+ and who love adventure stories. I'd definitely tell my friends about it. liked the fact there was extra information about the themes in the book so you could know more about what you were reading. I've never seen it in a book before so I thought it was very useful. Havenfall is one of the best books I've read in a long time. The adventures Maddie has are thrilling and the book is so immersive.
