WOW!! Skandar and the Phantom Rider was sooooo good. It had mystery, danger, and some really spooky bits that made me want to read more.
Skandar is getting stronger and braver, but I love that he’s still kind and cares so much about his friends. Bobby, Flo, and Mitchell were all awesome too – their friendship is the best. I really liked how they worked together to figure out who the Phantom Rider was (no spoilers, but I was shocked!!).
This book had everything – action, feelings, magic, and funny bits too. I didn’t want it to end!

Near the beginning of the book Skandar gets a saddle from Flo’s Dad. He meets the first rider which confused me a little bit, but it all makes sense when you read the story. The storyline is great, the book is amazing, and I loved it. I’d recommend it to all my friends. It has lots of exciting adventures and fun together, it is a good book and I loved reading it.

Skandar is now officially a unicorn rider at the eyrie. His life is blissfully wonderful, until… one day Skandar and his friends find a wild unicorn dead in a river. And now Wild Unicorns are ending up dead all over the island and no-one knows how (wild unicorns are meant to be immortal). After each death, conditions on the island get worse. Storms appear out of nowhere and terrible earthquakes shake the islands ground. No one knows what to do. The Island is in chaos. It’s up to Skandar and his friends to stop the wild unicorn killings and save the island from complete disaster. But can they make it in time?
Skandar and the phantom rider is a great book that people who love adventure, thrill, mystery, magic and a bucketful of edge-of-your-seat excitement will enjoy. If you’ve ever read Amari and the Night Brothers or Harry Potter (and have enjoyed them), this is a perfect book for you to read. I think that this book (and the whole series in fact) is unique. I have never read anything like them before. I really enjoyed the feel of anticipation of what was going to happen next, and the feeling of experiencing and going along with Skandar and his friends on their epic adventure too. Overall, a brilliant book- I’m looking forward to the next one!
Incredible second book, pulls you in and makes you feel like you are a part of the story.
Incredible second book to the series. Even better than the first one. I really like how everything is explored a lot further and we learn new things about the friendships and the island. I get to enjoy following Skandar and his friends as they train more and learn even more skills. There is so many mysteries beginning and I am looking forward to the next book.

Exciting and 'unputdownable'! I rooted for Skandar and all the members of the quartet, and kept trying to guess what might happen next. Perfect for Harry Potter fans. This series keeps getting better!
Skandar and the Phantom Rider is another amazing book! The plot is so exciting that I didn’t want to put it down, and when I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about what might happen next. I was really rooting for Skandar the whole way through. The author makes it easy to connect with the characters, and I especially love the group of friends, with their own troubles happening parallel to Skandar’s. I’d definitely recommend this series to any Harry Potter fans. Each book just gets better, and I’m so glad there are more to come!

We get to know more characters and more about their lives although felt some of it could have been looked at further.
Magical adventure and unicorns being in abundance.
Some of the plot seemed lacking at times and some characters could have been taken in better directions making a more exciting story. I am hopeful that the third book will continue to explore this more.
