Beautiful illustrations make the story feel more alive as though you're there in person making this exciting fast-paced adventure an absolute must read for any fantasy fan. My teacher agrees that this is one of the most beautiful books I have ever read.
The archipelago is still in danger and Christopher and his friends are the only ones who can save it. Their quest continues in this fantastic second book of the Impossible Creatures series. I cannot wait for the next book! 5 out of 5!!
This series is captivating!
Christopher, a boy with a way with animals, can't stay at home anymore, so he has to leave to live with one of his relatives. When he gets there he is told he must not go to the top of the mountain...so he does!

I couldn't put this book down, you really care about the characters and every chapter end makes you desperate to turn the page and keep reading.
The story gripped me; it was as if my eyes could not stop reading until the end of the book
The Impossible Creatures is a book about a boy called Christopher, who is a guardian for the entrance of a group of islands called the Archipelago. On a normal map you can’t see the group of islands and there are only certain parts of the world which you can get into it. There is also a girl called Anya who is a princess of an island in the Archipelago.
My favourite character was a baby Gagana (which is a mythical type of bird which lives on the island), and his name was Koo. I liked him because the author described him as a very cute and affectionate little bird and, as he gets older, he starts saying random words which is adorable.
The Impossible Creatures – The Poisoned King, kept me guessing a lot. Especially when there is a murder, and all the dragons start dying and you discover that it is linked together! The story gripped me; it was as if my eyes could not stop reading until the end of the book!
Every chapter was finished on a cliff hanger and left me wondering what was going to happen next. It was also interesting how each chapter switched between the two main characters, until eventually, they met.
I loved reading this book and I really hope for another in the series.
This book is a strong 5/5. I think it is for readers aged 9-14, who like dark and mysterious stories.

Ever since he saved the archipelago from certain destruction, Christopher Forrester has been longing to go back to the wandering, magical land, cut off from his own world, hoping that somehow, someway, it would call him back. And then, he finally gets his chance. But it wasn't quite the welcome he was expecting. Something is poisoning the mythical beasts and animals across the archipelago so badly that even the dragons, strong and dangerous as they are, are dying in quick succession. Joined by a girl hungry for justice, and old friends along the way, the team set off to save the animals of the archipelago from extinction. But can they do it in time? Or will they end up too late?
This book was really good, the way it seemed like you needed to keep reading on was amazing. I would really recommend this book for lovers of books like The Whisperwicks or Pages and Co. My only negative is that at the beginning of this book I felt like it was very similar to the first book in story. But overall a really great read, would recommend!
A true sense of the unknown!
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt a sense of adventure running through my veins. I think that if I hadn't already have read the first book though some parts wouldn't have made much sense. I also thought that some of the chapters could have been longer.
