The book with the most imagination I've ever read!
The Shadowseeker is a very intense story and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading. I held my breath when Ben and Charlie made their daring escape. The book with the most imagination I've ever read! I also enjoyed when they had to find the shadowseeker as it was rather funny.
Shadowseeker is a darker, exciting sequel where Elizabeth faces dangerous secrets, growing braver through challenges. With twists, tension and tested friendships, it’s a strong, action-packed continuation of the series.
Royal Institute of Magic: Shadowseeker is an exciting sequel that builds on the magical world introduced in Elizabeth’s Legacy. This time, the story feels a bit darker and more mysterious, as Elizabeth faces new challenges and uncovers secrets that are more dangerous than before.
There’s a stronger sense of tension, with hidden threats and unexpected twists that keep you guessing. The magical school still feels vivid and imaginative.
Elizabeth continues to grow as a character - she becomes braver and more determined, but also has to deal with difficult choices, which makes her feel more mature. Her friendships are tested, and this adds more emotion to the story.
Overall, Shadowseeker is a strong follow-up with more action, deeper themes, and a slightly darker tone, making it a great next read in the series.
A brilliant follow on story, full of adventure, mystery and magic.
I enjoyed the second book in this magical series just as much as the first one. Ben and Charlie begin their apprenticeship at the Royal Institute of Magic, where they meet a Shadowseeker (a dark elf) in the lift on their first day. Ben, Charlie and Natalie must protect a piece of Elizabeth's amour which has extraordinary power from the dark elves at the same time as passing their first grade exams. The story was exciting and action-packed. I couldn't stop reading it! I adored the flying chimpanzees, they were hilarious.
Spellbinding, this story will guarantee all readers will not put it down.
Ben is about to start his apprenticeship at the royal institute of magic but a shadow seeker turns up and everything goes wrong.
Battling tests, dark elves and a strange giant cat called a forreck, Ben must find the second piece of Elizabeth’s armour.
The first day at school could be Ben’s last.
This book is so good you’ll want to read the rest of the series. I didn’t think things could get any better after book one but things just kept getting better and better. If you love Harry Potter and/ or Skandar then this book is guaranteed to be one of your favourites.
Whenever I picked up the book, I couldn’t put it down!
This is the sequel to the Royal institute of Magic: Elizabeth’s Legacy (Book one). Book two is all about Ben and Charlie, the main characters in book one, and Natalie. Ben and Charlie try to pass an exam to get into the Royal Institute of Magic, but while all of this is happening the three of them try to find Ben’s parents who are missing.
My favourite character is Natalie because she is half elf and very pretty, and she always helps Ben and Charlie with the problems and adventures they must face. All the characters feel very real to me because they all have their own personalities and features. Victor Kloss, the author, describes the characters well and paints clear pictures of all the scenes in the book.
The story kept leaving all the chapters on a cliff hanger. The plot kept me guessing and there were so many twists and turns that left me stunned. My favourite part of the book was when Ben, Charlie and Natalie ventured to Spellworks Inc to find out answers about a mythical animal.
Kloss is amazing at writing tense scenes and there are lots of well thought through secrets and questions that get uncovered further on in the book. Whenever I picked up the book, I couldn’t put it down! It kept me turning pages and made questions form in my head, but they all got answered at the end of the book.
It was frustrating when it ended on a cliff hanger but made me really excited for the third book.
Sometimes it made the scene in my head a bit too gross when he started to talk about blood a bit too much.
Altogether it is an outstanding book of mysteries and dramas. I would recommend this book to readers ages 8-12. It is the best book I have ever read. This is the new Harry Potter!
