I really enjoyed this adventure because it proves that love triumphs over all and that it is possible that anybody can be misunderstood.
This story is set in a forest which is full of mysterious and terrifying ghosts called Hollow Spirits. Nettle's older sister, Fern, joins The Wildheart Rangers who protect the forest from The Gloom, but when Fern is accused of betraying The Rangers, Nettle must join the group to figure out if the rumours are true. I really enjoyed this adventure because it proves that love triumphs over all and that it is possible that anybody can be misunderstood. I really enjoyed discovering all the different Hollow Spirits and finding out about their personalities and what makes them unique. It was interesting to see how Nettle changed throughout the book from a timid girl who is scared of everything to someone is much bolder.
It is most definitely one of my favourites!
I loved all of it from the beginning to the end and every word was riveting. I liked how different Fern and Nettle were. I wouldn't change a thing about it. It is most definitely one of my favourites. I liked the story behind it involving the Oak Man and the spirits.
Crammed with spine-tingling spooks, creepy, curious adventures and heart-warming friendship, this book is great for lovers of fantasy, mystery and adventure - a great read.
Nettle and Fern are sisters, but they are as different as it is possible for two siblings to be. Fern is the brave, courageous, feisty sister while Nettle is timid, anxious and afraid. They live in the village of Twigswick, surrounded by a dark and dangerous forest. When she turns 14, Fern joins the Wildheart Rangers- brave individuals whose job is to protect the ordinary villagers from the monsters that live in the forest. But when Nettle is told that Fern has abandoned the rangers, and joined up with the dangerous and mysterious Shadow Stalkers, she knows that she will do anything in her power to find her sister and bring her home, just as Fern once did for her.
As Nettle meets the Woodland Rangers and discovers the truth about Fern, she starts to question everything she knows about her beloved sister... She makes friends among the rangers, but are they telling the truth? Who can she trust? Her sister... or her new friends?
I loved following Nettle's journey of self discovery and thought the descriptions of her ‘fear tree’ were creative and an incredibly accurate description of what fear does to us. At times the story was a little bit predictable, but nevertheless an entertaining and enjoyable read. I would recommend this story to people who have enjoyed Harry Potter and Greenwild.
Wildheart is a wonderful, magical story about two sisters who share an unbreakable bond with each other.
The book is about when one of the two sisters goes and joins the Wildheart Rangers but then she joins a band of thieves! Her sister can't believe that she is now robber! So, she joins the Rangers and discovers that her sister had turned to the dark side and that she is the one who must be stopped!
This book kind of reminds me of Harry Potter because there are lots of monsters, ghosts, and ghouls.
I would really recommend this book to people who are into fantasy and nature.
