Young Carers in Space is a second picture book created for young carers by the Brazilian illustrator and author Ana Graça. Ana’s new book is effectively a prequel to her highly successful first offering Young Carers in Bunnyland. Ana has previously illustrated books published in Brazil and the USA and now, to widespread acclaim, in the UK Ana is raising her voice in support of these little children whose needs are so often overlooked.
She has also produced an innovative workbook called About Me that can be used to aid conversations with young children about their caring responsibilities. All of these materials have been developed in conversation with young carers.
The needs of young carers are all too often ignored and this is particularly so for the very youngest of them. Ana’s beautiful books are helping shine the light on this and promote social change.
