LoveReading and LoveReading4Kids is thrilled to win one of three spaces in the smallbusiness.co.uk x Sage pop-up shop competition in London's Oxford Street! We have filled our stall with some of our favourite books, so come down and buy a book, join us for some book chat and meet some authors. Today Tia Fisher will be signing copies of Crossing the Line, a brilliant and powerful YA verse novel about terrifying county lines child exploitation. And we are joined by Jeanne Willis and Brian Fitzgerald (and their bears!) for a book signing on Saturday 17 June to celebrate the publication of their gorgeous new picture book The Bear Who Had Nothing to Wear.

Over 250 companies entered the Sage pop-up shop competition, which was judged by Baby Cot Shop founder Toks Aruture, Small Business Commissioner and broadcaster Liz Barclay, Borough 22 owner Ryan Panchoo, and Sage VP performance marketing UKI Kirsty Waller.

Sharing the pop-up shop with LoveReading is Baboodle, the UK’s first baby equipment rental platform and vegan brownie baker Cake or Death.

The judges praised the three winners for their unique branding, social conscience, and sense of building a community; all qualities at the heart of LoveReading.

LoveReading, the UK’s leading book recommendation website, has reading for pleasure at its core. Because books change lives. After championing brilliant books across all genres and ages for seventeen years, July 2022 saw LoveReading and LoveReading4Kids enhance their portfolio by launching an online bookshop with social purpose.

Every time you now buy a physical book from LoveReading and LoveReading4Kids, 25% of the cover price is donated to a school of choice to enable them to buy books for their library, encouraging reading for all ages  and delivering better outcomes for our nation’s children.

LoveReading MD, Deborah MacLaren said "What an incredible opportunity this has been. Enabling us to enjoy a physical presence for our bookselling for the first time. It’s been an absolute joy to meet customers, shout about our online bookstore with social purpose and the importance of reading for pleasure. And of course sell some books, on Oxford Street no less!

The icing on the cake has been scheduling some author and illustrator book signings. Simply wonderful. Thank you so much for making this happen Sage and Smallbusiness.co.uk"

Small business commissioner Liz Barclay enthused: “The purpose behind this business and the passion for books and for children’s learning shines through. Books really do change lives but not all get the chance to benefit from them early enough.”

If you are in London pop in to our pop-up, meet the team and join us on our mission to get more books in to schools.

You can find the pop-up shop at 58 Oxford Street, W1D 1BH, 10am - 7pm, 15 - 17 June.
