Author and illustrator reimagine the tale of the three little pigs in a way that is certain to appeal to today’s young readers. Our three heroes endeavouring to build a safe, comfy house are not pigs but pugs, represented in photographs, digitally tweaked to dress them cute bows and neckerchiefs. The wolf here is a big bad cat, pretty as a picture but with sharp scratchy claws and mean moggy eyes. She’s handy with a hairdryer – useful for blowing down the straw house – and with a leaf blower, that destroys the stick house, but she gets her comeuppance in a surprise ending. The pugs are as adorable as pugs always are, and the whole thing bubbles with energy and humour. ~ Andrea Reece
The Three Little Pugs and the Big Bad Cat puts a modern spin on the distinguished childhood tale that we all know and love. It tells the tale of Bubbles, Bandit and Beauty and their race against time to get busy building and avoid the huffs and puffs of Big Bad Cat.
When Mother Pug packs their bags and tells them it’s time to make their own home, the three little pugs set off on their journey to do just that. Challenges lay ahead, but will they succeed and find a new place to call home? Accompany us on this entertaining adventure through the trials and tribulations of Bubbles, Bandit and Beauty, as they fight to save the treats and fend off their evil feline foe.
