LoveReading4Kids Says

An interesting crime mystery with lots of action.

The fast pace story of George Jenkins and his friends, the start of a new series (The Undergrounders’ series) and the search for a criminal that turns not only their school life upside down but uncovers information about the circumstances of the death of George’s mother. Just how are they all connected?

When George stumbles upon a crime scene at school, his life is changed forever. He is eager for the attention and respect of his distant father and to get it, he leads his friends on a quest to find the person responsible, the infamous criminal The Falcon. The plot weaves a web with clues, suspicions and discoveries building and brewing the suspense as it goes and lands the friends in the middle of a secret underground MI5 location on the hunt for a gang of some of Europe's most notorious criminals.

With tension, mystery, action and shocking twists and turns I can understand why this is recommended to fans of Alex Rider.

I like the plotline of a normal teenager, with relatable problems that has their world turned upside down by something huge. These are the kind of stories I enjoyed reading when I was that age. They allow you to get to know the characters as they develop and investigate together. This style of story also sets you up nicely to enjoy new adventures with the characters and the new friends he makes. The ending is a whopper of a cliffhanger and will have readers eager to find out what happens in the next instalment.
