A thrilling adventure which captures the desperation and danger that lies at the heart of smuggling. Reuben’s only way of keeping his family going is to join the smugglers, but he gets caught up in something way beyond even the dangers he might expect when the gang is unexpectedly betrayed. Loads of excitement and a strong sense of the history behind this old, old lawlessness.
Smuggling is a dangerous game, but Reuben has no choice. Being on the wrong side of the law is the only way to bring in the money his family desperately needs. The smugglers are safe as long as they stick together - but someone has betrayed them, someone they know. And to Reuben's fear and horror, he's caught up in a new and even more dangerous game of murder, lies and treason. Dark and dangerous, this is a really compelling and rip-roaring read.
