"A lesson we should all learn, delivered with immense style, empathy and fun"
Here’s another inspired and inspiring book from the team who brought us picture book gems including Ada Twist, Scientist and Iggy Peck, Architect.
Lila Greer, number five in a family of five, is an anxious child. Faced with new people, places or scenarios she is overwhelmed by ‘What ifs?’. Starting a new school piles these up, ‘What if I mess up?’, ‘What if they don’t like me and we don’t get along?’. Fortunately, she has a very special teacher who knows just what to do.
Skipping ahead, we see Lila, now a teacher herself, about to meet her first class. When self-doubts arrive because, as we all know, age doesn’t really affect them, she remembers what Miss Kern taught her and they fade away. There’s lots for everyone to learn here, delivered as ever by this author illustrator team with immense style, empathy and fun.
