Join young Yendor on a brand-new adventure story as he journeys to a strange new world, ruled by dinosaur-like creatures made of old technology and has to find a way back home.
When a young dactyl's mother vanishes, adventurer Yendor and his best friend Pink are determined to help. Even if finding her means climbing to the top of Very Pointy Peaks! But, that is just the beginning! As the mystery of Peetee's missing mother unravels, Yendor realises that this adventure is going to be far BIGGER than he ever imagined ...
Colour and charm burst from the pages in this all-new story for Yendor, the junior adventurer. Yendor: The Land of the Googolsaurs is packed with new friends and foe, illustrated from the imagination of legendary fantasy artist Rodney Matthews. The tale, a rescue mission, written by his wife, Sarah Matthews, will captivate early readers and, equally, even younger children as a read-aloud adventure to be shared.
Sarah Matthews was born in 1979, in Peterhead, Scotland. Sarah has been writing children’s stories since she was old enough to hold a pen. Her love for words has earned her degrees in Language & Linguistics and Philosophy. Shelving a career in academia, she joined forces with Rodney Matthews in 2015 as his business partner – and in 2016 as his wife. Initially his agent, Sarah’s own creative talents quickly shone through. She edited and redesigned the 2020 publication of Rodney’s children’s book Yendor – the Journey of a Junior Adventurer, and then, in 2021, co- directed the short film adaptation, for which she provided an award-winning narration. Delighted to be back writing again, Sarah likes to pen her thoughts in the greenhouse. When not working she can be found tending her vegetable patch and playing with the couple’s dog.
