"A clever and entertaining new dinosaur who-is-it."
Here’s a clever and entertaining take on the ‘am I your mummy?’ formula. It opens two hundred million years ago. An egg is blown out of a nest by the wind and rolls down a hill. The egg is sure it’s a dinosaur, but what kind?
As various dinosaurs walk past, the egg’s insider asks them, ‘am I yours?’ As they helpfully describe themselves, the egg checks the descriptions against its own appearance: short neck, so not a brachiosaurus; no sharp horns, so not a triceratops; no crest, so not a Corythosaurus.
Eventually, the friendly dinosaurs work it out and push the egg home. This will delight young palaeontologists with its parade of dinosaurs but there’s lots for everyone: a jolly rhyming text; a mystery; STEM skills and a demonstration of logic; a happy ending. Alex Latimer’s inky prints set the dinosaurs stomping across the pages and the endpapers (spot the VW Beetle!) are an extra treat.
