On a trip to visit her dad, Emerald finds a newly hatched sea dragon separated from its mother in a storm. When Bubbles the baby follows her back to the castle, Emerald and her stepsister Delphina decide to keep the little creature as a pet, but her mum and stepdad are adamant: babies need to be with their mummies.
The reunion takes place and the mother sea dragon shows her appreciation with a very special thank you experience. The story might be set beneath the sea and Emerald’s stepdad a king, but there’s lots Emerald has in common with young readers, and lots they’ll pick up in this story.
As ever, lively plots and short, prettily illustrated chapters make these ideal for newly independent readers, while there are some ‘fintastic’ extras at the end including a quiz and bubble making instructions.
