Vince & Joe: Wheels Out, Trouble Ahead! by Isabell Seiferling contains 5 short chapter stories about best friends Vince and Joe. In these dynamically illustrated stories we see them turn their neighbourhood into their playground, enter skate competitions and have backyard adventures. These are lively stories that focus on fun, friendship and exploration.

The short chapter stories would work well for young readers starting to read independently, but there’s still lots of bright illustrations to enjoy alongside the easy to read text. The key characters are introduced at the start of the book, establishing the characters before the fun begins in the stories while also providing an easy opportunity to refresh your memory if needed. This collection is perfect for readers who love skating (or scootering) and want to enjoy mildly chaotic adventures with a new crew of best friends.

Vince & Joe's scooter and skateboarding antics are fun, especially when Aunt Poppy is around. The best friends just love finding fun ways to play.

I think younger boys will like the stories. I liked the five short stories in the book. Each one with Vince & Joe getting into a little trouble, especially with Mr Huber but always having fun in the end. I found it more American in it's style with sidewalk for pavement. I liked the pictures, Aunt Poppy was my favourite. I can imagine the popcorn and the bubbles, really fun.... Read Full Review
