More great reads: the best books for 13 year olds
This is a heart-pounding and thrilling urban dystopian fiction debut from an exciting young author. Divergent is a novel of non-stop suspense and twists and turn that you least expect. There's romance too and a heroine who is determined to fulfill her plans even when conflict seems the only course of action.
One choice can transform you. Pass initiation. Do not fail! In sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior's world, society is divided into five factions -- Abnegation (the selfless), Candor (the honest), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent) - each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue, in the attempt to form a perfect society.
