Bright and beautiful to look at, Petr Horacek’s latest picture book is a visual feast, and seems to be a farmyard reworking of Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Goat is bored with grass and decides to try something different. She eats her way through the dog’s food, the cat’s milk, the pig’s potato peelings, and even the farmer’s pants!
After all that she feels very unwell – unsurprisingly - and on a wonderful double page turns green! It’s a very funny story and children will love Greedy Goat and her culinary adventure. Petr Horacek’s bold, vibrant illustrations are absolutely stunning as always. ~ Andrea Reece
Goat has had enough of eating grass. She wants to try something different - the dog's food, the pig's potatoes and even the farmer's pants. But things go wrong in this hilarious, but cautionary, farmyard tale from the Kate Greenaway-Medal shortlisted illustrator described by the Washington Post as the thinking tot's Eric Carle.
