More great reads: the best books for 4 year olds
"Monster fun for the young and the old will love it too"
From the opening page when our very hot and thirsty monster bursts into view shouting, ‘Monster! Thirsty! Drink!’ to its cheeky surprise ending, children will be laughing gleefully at Sean Taylor and Fred Benaglia’s latest picture book.
A sequel if you like to Monster! Hungry! Phone!, their previous collaboration, the Monster star is all character, a single-minded child-like explosion of immediate needs, deliciously thwarted by an adult world. There’s an irresistible page-turning quality to the story - as readers we are desperate too for Monster to get his drink, and it’s an absolute treat to read aloud (though maybe not just before lights out, it’s far to raucously funny for that). Fabulous fun!
It's a VERY hot day. Monster is THIRSTY. He wants a drink! But UH-OH! Where is he going to find one? Hold on tight - Monster is in for another wild ride!
