A gift from Cousin Judy sets all sorts of adventures in train for sisters Stella and Marigold.
Cousin Judy’s presents have not always gone down well but this one seems uncontroversial – a journal in which to record facts about yourself. The page that asks you to list your besties proves problematic, however. Neither sister has enough ‘besties’ to fill the page and their efforts to recruit more, little Marigold’s in particular, have unexpected repercussions.
These sisters are very special literary creations, funny, individual and wonderfully quirky, and their approach to the different situations they find themselves in is the same – fresh, funny and totally credible.
If you’re lucky enough to have a sister, their relationship will ring very true; they’re best friends, even when they fall out, and if you’re going to run away, who else would you want with you but your sister? This is the second book about Stella and Marigold and while you don’t need to have read the first to appreciate it, readers will definitely seek it out once they’ve read this one.
