The thrilling adventures of David Balfour are told by himself in this fast-paced narrative of kidnap, escape and a quest for revenge. Set against the rugged Scottish scenery which Stevenson evokes beautifully, the story ducks and dives to a most satisfying conclusion.
Orphan David Balfour discovers he has been betrayed and kept from his rightful inheritance, so his miserly uncle has him kidnapped and shipped into slavery. When the ship is wrecked, David washes ashore with the swashbuckling rebel, Alan Breck. Together they set off across the treacherous Highlands on a quest for justice.
