This is another lovely and inspiring adventure for Lulu, one of the busiest and most positive little girls in picture books. Lulu loves cats, we can see that from her bedroom which is full of cuddly cat toys, but Mummy says that looking after a real one is lots of work. They take a trip to the library to find books about caring for cats, and Lulu starts to practice at home. When she proves to Mummy that she’s ready to take on cat ownership, they go to the cat shelter, where Lulu meets that cat that will become hers. Lulu is a little girl we can all look up to and this brims with her enthusiasm, effort and excitement, as well as a wonderfully warm sense of happy family life. ~Andrea Reece
Lulu wants a cat. Mummy says pets are a lot of work, so Lulu is eager to find out more. She reads all about cats in the library. She takes care of her stuffed toys and shows Mummy how responsible she can be. When she finally gets to adopt a little cat, Lulu knows just what to do. Lulu Gets a Cat is a picture book that explores preparing to adopt a pet, learning responsibility, caring for a new pet, first experiences, empathy and much more. With rich and emotive illustrations it communicates the everyday life of a child and the relationship with their parents.
