Ivy Newt is a young Sand Witch and lives in the faraway land of Miracula with her parents King Lucius and Queen Fenella, and her familiar Tom Wolf, who can turn into a wolf and back whenever he feels like it.
It’s Hallowe’en and Ivy is very excited, not just about her parents’ annual party, but because it’s the only day the haunted house on the other side of the bay appears. She has to investigate! She and Tom find a witch, trapped by a sorcerer. She really needs their help and with the clock ticking, Ivy and Tom have just hours to break the spell.
This fast-moving story is full of fun and hi-jinks, but real edge-of-your-seat moments too. Ivy is an irresistible character and newly confident readers will love these stories. The package is lovely too – a pocket-sized format and lots of appealing black and white illustrations by Magda Brol.
Every Halloween at sunrise, a spooky haunted house appears near Newt Castle, only to disappear again at the stroke of midnight. Ivy and Tom set out to solve the mystery, stumbling upon an imprisoned witch, a powerful sorcerer and a curse they must break before time runs out.
The second in a fast-paced adventure series for emerging readers, set in the magical world of Miracula. With wonderful, dramatic black and white illustrations throughout, enhancing the atmosphere of wizardry, peril and fun.
Dynamic, comical and cute illustrations by Magda Brol are on every page, with a map and gallery.
