Covering items from the Copper Age Alps, Ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome, Anglo-Saxon Europe, Chacoan New Mexico, and medieval France, history-mad 7+-year-olds will be dazzled by stories of golden helmets, Tutankhamun's glitzy sandals, a bronze mechanical computer, and a golden buckle, and come away with a deeper understanding of how archaeologists make sense of the past, and a sense of the lived stories that lie behind all museum artefacts.
