A funny, exciting story about a clever, spotty dog and a pair of rather silly, dastardly villains! We loved the chaotic, colourful and fun illustrations and the satisfying ending. One to read and enjoy over and over again!
My little boy loved this book. He enjoyed seeing all the different spotty animals and figuring out as the book went on that Penny and Pat are the villains, not the heroes of the story! He loves animals, so he thought it was great fun that the rather silly Pat kept on getting mixed up with what sort of animal he was meant to be stealing for the dastardly Penny. There were lots of giggles when he found the very long, spotty snake and the "far too hoppy" rabbit. By far the most satisfying part of the story for both of us, though, was when the clever, spotty dog brings the police to the door and the villainous pair are taken away in handcuffs! The illustrations were bright, fun and chaotic with loads to look at on every page. I think this is one book we will read together over and over again!
Fun and interesting.
This is all about a clever spotty dog who stops the robbers. I liked the dog helping the police catch the bad guys. The spotty dog was very funny and Pat the robber was silly because he kept getting the wrong animals! The pictures were all very fun too!

We really liked the illustrations. And we liked the cleverness of the book titles in the pile of books e.g. ‘to sit or not to sit'.
Frankie liked when Pat kept getting it wrong and how clever Spotty Dog was to lead the police to arrest them.
All the animals were spotty and we loved the end papers.
A bright, simple and enjoyable story.
That Dog! will be a hit with any animal loving children out there. The illustrations are filled with detail and you could spend ages pouring over every page before continuing on to see if That dog manages to avoid the dog-nappers.
I shared this book with my friend's child and she was instantly captivated by the cover and the artwork, they were going to read it as soon as they were home. That Dog is a simple and charming story that I think will be enjoyed by many children.
