Spirit of the Jungle Synopsis

Could you survive in the jungle? After being washed away down the Wainganga River during a flash flood, Mak wakes up alone in the Indian jungle. The jungle is full of danger - poisonous snakes, cunning monkeys and desperate poachers - and every step Mak takes might be his last. Mak finds help and friendship from other jungle creatures, but he will need all his skill and luck to survive and make his way back home.

Spirit of the Jungle takes a new and exciting contemporary look at The Jungle Book with a central story woven through with real-life survival tips from the master of the outdoors. The series is inspired by The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling, which Macmillan first published in 1894.

The New Jungle Book Adventure: Spirit of the Jungle is a modern-day novel featuring teen hero Mak, who is visiting the Indian jungle with his family when he is stranded after his boat capsizes, and has to find his way out alone – with the help of a few familiar animals.
