In a nutshell: three funny stories perfect for reading aloud | Everyone’s favourite crime-solving, cake-baking dogs are back in a collection of three lively, self-contained stories which are perfect for just-becoming-confident readers and lovely to read aloud. Shifty and Sam enter the Rocky Road Race, help catch a jewel thief, and fall out with one another, though fortunately only temporarily.
Tracey Corderoy’s story-telling voice is wonderfully warm and engaging and makes the adventures of ‘the boys’, as they’re often referred to, absolutely irresistible. Steve Lenton’s illustrations, many of them full page, are as funny and action-packed as the little stories and Shifty and Sam deserve a place on every young child’s bookshelf. ~ Andrea Reece
The Editor at Nosy Crow says: “It’s brilliant to be back with Shifty and Sam, as they continue to solve mysteries, catch robbers and have a lot of fun!”
Three more stories of bravery and derring-do from our favourite baker boys! The much-loved picture book pair of pooches continue their adventures in a two-colour fiction format, ideal for children growing in confidence as readers and beginning to read alone. In the title story, Shifty and Sam lead the way in a wacky race that has been sabotaged by the one and only Red Rocket!
