Sibéal Pounder’s new adventure picks up where the exciting Neon’s Secret Universe left off. During the day, Neon Gallup is a regular girl, then at night she slips through the portal in her bedroom wall, using an old green lipstick as a key, and arrives in the UNIverse, where she is a fully fledged unicorn, though not the horsey kind that most of us think of when someone says unicorn.

All seems great, but Neon doesn’t realise that her next-door neighbour Priscilla Knackerman knows her secret and is actually a UH, or Unicorn Hunter. Will Neon be able to keep Priscilla out of the UNIverse and protect her magical friends?

Sibéal Pounder has a string of super-popular series to her name, including Witch Wars and Bad Mermaids, and they all take a quirky, witty approach to subjects you might think had been done so often the possibility of originality is tiny. But she always succeeds in bringing a fresh feel and a touch of sparkle, and that’s definitely the case with this series. Sarah Warburton’s black and white illustrations match Pounder’s text for style and appeal.
