"A delightful wintry adventure packed full of humour. And definitely no humans!"
A brilliantly playful and inventive picture book, Yetis Don’t Exist turns the idea of “mythical creatures” on its head with hilarious results. When news reaches a group of yetis that they don’t exist, they set off to find the humans responsible and put the record straight. Over the mountains, through the forests, across the rivers they search and search.
There’s a real sense of momentum as the yetis journey into the human world, building anticipation towards a genuinely funny and cleverly handled twist.
Kate Thompson’s rhyming text is a joy to read and complemented by Loretta Schauer’s illustrations, this book is something special. Packed with visual jokes, lots of tiny details and expressive characters, each spread rewards careful looking. Kids will love spotting what’s really going on long before the yetis do.
At its heart, this is a story about perception, misunderstanding and seeing the world from a different point of view. But it never loses its lightness or sense of fun. Perfect for reading aloud on a winter’s day, this is sure to become a firm favourite for fans of clever, characterful picture books.

The fact that the illustrations are so detailed mean that each time this story is read there will always be new things to discover and, of course, being able to follow the centrefold map is something most children will enjoy....
