Here’s another unmissable helping of fool proof plans from 4B, or ‘the worst class in the world’ in the judgement of their headmistress Mrs Bottomley-Blunt.

A wave of Epic Swaps breaks out as Manjit and his best friend, our narrator, Stanley set about trying to find something epic enough to be swapped for a rare Wizard Wangle card. Things brought in to be swapped include a bionic conker, a packet of crisps that was still mostly full, and Keith Mears’ little brother Kevin.

No wonder everyone ends up on the Disappointing Day board. In the second of two self-contained stories, 4B have a supply teacher, whose experience turns out to be so bad that he LITERALLY resigns from teaching to set up his own SCHOOL OF IMAGINATION. As Stanley says, you never know what will happen in class 4B, but fun and games are guaranteed.

With short sentences, wonderful black and white illustrations and lots of unforgettable catchphrases, the stories are perfect for newly independent readers, but great fun for people of any age to read aloud. Top of the class in fact.
