This novel by Pippa Goodhart, popular author of over thirty children's books, is firmly rooted in history and vividly describes the horror of the Plague and the Great Fire. At its heart though is a thrilling adventure about a boy, his battle with injustice, and his special relationship with a wild animal. A brilliant and compelling adventure for children of 9+.
Young Nick Truelove blames King Charles II for the death of his parents, and vows to get his revenge. He forms a special friendship with a young raven and inspired by its bold behaviour and wily cunning bluffs his way into the centre of the King’s power, the Tower of London. But the Great Fire - and an encounter with the King himself - will change Nick’s plans for ever.
