"A sweet illustrated children's book that will appeal to young children."
This is a sweet 31 page, illustrated children's book. Each page has a cute and colourful picture and 4 lines of rhyming text. Paula the Pug learns that Santa brings gifts at Christmas. She follows a delicious smell towards a cookie set out on a plate. She thinks it was left out for her and she eats it.
She finds several other cookies all around the town and enjoys eating them. Her human explains that these snacks were baked by the children for Santa. Paula feels bad that she ate cookies that weren't meant for her. To correct her mistake, she decides to bake more cookies to replace the ones she ate.
She retraces her steps, going door to door, to put every treat back in its place. Then, Santa appears, from out the chimney! Santa remarks that Paula has been really good and has learnt how to share and the cookies in Paula's town are the tastiest. He brings a surprise out his sack for her! What do you think it is?
This fun-filled story will appeal to young children and shows the importance of trying to make amends if you have made a mistake as well as how good it is to learn from situations.

Paula the Pug is back and this time she is discovering Christmas
After finding a home in the sweet The Pug Who Didn't Belong, we return to Paula for her first Christmas in the mountains. In gentle, wonderfully flowing rhyming text we see how she discovers the twinkly lights and snow before being told about Santa and the gifts he bestows (the rhythm is contagious). Wandering out on Christmas Eve, the delicious smell of cookies proves too much temptation for Paula, thinking that maybe Santa may have left them for her. Though we all know not to feed dogs the chocolate chip cookies depicted, Paula happily works her way through the village before learning her mistake and having to fix it.
This is another fun and charming story with delightful illustrations of Paula the Pug throughout.... Read Full Review
