LoveReading4Kids Says
After a trip to the beach with Grandpa, Louie develops a terrible fear of sharks. Grandpa takes him to the lake instead of the seaside, but that doesn’t help, and Louie convinces himself that there are sharks in his paddling pool, bath, even the local park.
Wise Grandpa takes him to the library to learn the facts about sharks, and that helps a bit, but not much. What does make a difference, is Grandpa explaining that he used to be scared too and how he learned to live with his fear, and make sure it didn’t stop him doing the things he wanted to do.
Children will be amused by the Hammerhead Shark that keeps popping up in Louie’s imagination and will enjoy the bonus shark facts in the book too, but they’ll also take on board Granda’s wise advice about managing fears and living your best life.
An excellent book to calm anxieties of any kind, and a fun story too.

About
I Could Be Eaten by a Shark Synopsis
Louie is scared of sharks . . . even when there aren't any around.
One day Louie sees a baby shark at the beach, and that's where it all starts. Now everywhere he goes he sees sharks . . . in the bath, in the park, even down the toilet.
With some help from his grandpa (who is very wise), Louie begins to face his fears. After all, he has fireflies to count, new friends to make, and a whole new world to discover.
A funny, uplifting story from Marcela Ferreria and Mark Chambers, the author and illustrator of the hilarious Bear vs Dragon.
Bonus facts about sharks included in the story.

Praise for Bear vs Dragon:
"Children will love the impending sense of doom, the idiotic cluelessness of the protagonists and the insults Bear and Dragon hurl at each other... Lively and hilarious." - The Bookseller

About Marcela Ferreira
Marcela Ferreira was born in Rio de Janeiro and spent her childhood between the beach and her grandparents’ farm. She moved to London as a teenager and had to quickly get to grips with a whole new language (tough times!). The experience was transformative.
Being bilingual means a joyful interest in tongue twisting stories, as well as how country and culture affect the tales we tell. Unsurprisingly, her stories tend to focus on friendship, growth, change, and being yourself - though funny ones are her favourite.
Her debut picture book, The Queen Next Door was shortlisted for the Waterstone’s Illustrated Book Prize 2024. She is also the author of The Treasure, Bear Vs Dragon and I Could Be Eaten By a Shark.
