The Global Climate Crisis is the biggest issue of our age, with the greatest impact to be felt by the next and subsequent generations. Across the country children have been inspired to try to make a difference and draw attention to the emergency, through Climate Marches and campaigning but also through their own behaviour and lifestyle changes.

"No one is too small to make a difference" Greta Thunberg

At LoveReading4Kids, we aren’t just passionate about good books; we are also passionate about our planet and hope this selection of books will help to educate and enthuse our young readers.

Our recommended reads include books which are highly topical covering everything from recycling and biodiversity to global warming and eco-tips, and even measuring your carbon footprint. We’ve also chosen a number of novels and picture books with an eco theme.

The Authors4Oceans campaign was founded by Lauren St John and is supported by some of our most loved and respected authors and illustrators including Michael Morpurgo, Jacqueline Wilson and Chris Riddell. Committed to preserving our world for future generations through education and action, there is a wealth of information and resources to be found on their website - www.authors4oceans.org

"For the first time in earth's history a species has the ability to prevent itself from extinction, that species is US …" Jane Goodall, primatologist and anthropologist.
